Encounter Learning Center is seeking a warm, caring teacher to nurture children in a play-based, Reggio Emilia inspired program. As a teacher, you will plan and implement creative lessons, guide children through inquiry and exploration, and help them develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.

*Responsibilities:* * Develop weekly lesson plans that align with program philosophy and state early learning standards covering areas such as literacy, math, science, arts and social-emotional growth * Lead small and large group activities, including read alouds, imaginary play, building projects, art, music, and movement * Observe children to assess development and scaffold next steps * Maintain a safe, clean classroom environment * Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate on goals * Participate in professional development to stay current in best practices

*Qualifications:* * Massachusetts EEC Certification * 2+ years experience as early childhood education teacher * Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field * Willing to commute or relocate to Westwood, MA * Strong classroom management abilities * Patient, caring temperament and ability to connect with young children * Creativity and enthusiasm
