The Department of Specialized Services is actively recruiting candidates for special education itinerant contracted schools. Provide services to students with special education needs enrolled in MPS Charter and Contracted School Services. Responsible for implementing servcices based on individual students' IEPs. This position is in an MPS school that will follow the Early Start school calendar for the 2025-26 school year. How To Apply

Pending graduates should include a letter from their educational institution documenting that they have met the requirements for graduation and teacher certification. At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and official transcripts conferring his/her undergraduate degree. Qualifications
Applicants must be licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to teach this specific grade level and / or content area. Current five-year or lifetime license in special education (801, 810, 811, or 830) grades 6-12, 9-12 or K-12 issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Submit a resume and 3 current letters of recommendation. Responsibilities
GroupBox1 Duties and Responsibilities: Assist regular education teachers in supporting students with special education needs within the school setting. Maintain ongoing contact with school staff and parents to assist them in the development of a realistic understanding of their child's abilities, progress and future goals. Share resources and educational information with school staff and parents concerning students with special education needs. Assist in the modification and adaptation of instruction and curriculum materials to meet the students' needs. Provide direct instruction to students and consult with classroom teachers as indicated in the students' individual educational plan. Participate in the development and implementation of the individual educational plan for each student. Responsible for the ongoing assessment and program planning as it pertains to the students' IEP chairperson for students' annual IEPs.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The teacher salary range starts at $52,827,79 and increases according to the set salary schedule based on education beyond the required bachelor's degree and previous years of fully-licensed K-12 teaching experience. Equal Employment Opportunity
