A Special Education Teacher (LBS1) provides specialized instruction and support for students with moderate to severe disabilities in a self-contained classroom. They develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), monitor student progress, manage classroom behavior, and collaborate with parents and school staff. The role requires an Illinois Professional Educator License with a Special Education Endorsement and focuses on creating a supportive learning environment to help students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Provide instruction in a variety of settings, including small group and one-on-one instruction.
• Monitor and assess students’ progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction as needed.
• Manage classroom behavior and provide a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress with parents and school administrators.
• Attend and participate in meetings related to students' education, including IEP meetings.

Qualifications:

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement & LBS1
