Job Position: Special Education Teacher Location: Brooklyn Center, MN 55430 Pay Rate: Starting at $45/hour Caseload: Elementary K-5 (resource setting 1/2 or centerbased setting 3) Schedule: 7:15am -3pm
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Plan and develop a course of study that is aligned with each assigned special education students Individualized Education Plan and is consistent with curriculum guidelines of the school district and the state.
Develop lesson plans in support of each special education student that include a variety of strategies to encourage student engagement.
Assess student learning as prescribed in the students Individualized Education Plan.
Communicate information related to student progress to parents on a regular basis.
Collaborate with other staff members in the planning for Individualized Education Plan meetings.
Administer standardized tests in accordance with accepted protocol and state regulations.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate student progress to parents/guardians as required by the school or whenever such communication is needed.
Collaborate with other professionals to meet the social and emotional needs of students.
Participate in faculty meetings, committee meetings, educational conferences, and other professional development activities to ensure best practices are utilized in the classroom.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Valid MN teaching license in special education
