The Special Education Teacher Assistant will assist the classroom teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment in which students may take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources. - $19-$22 an hour* - Participate in the instructional program under the direction of a certified teacher - Work with groups of children based on grade level - Work with children in learning centers and assist in the preparation and care of learning materials - Assist in preparing classroom displays and bulletin boards - Communicates relevant information regarding student’s behavior with parents - Assist students with feeding, diapering, or toileting and charts time - Care for classroom equipment and materials and may operate audio-visual equipment - Assist with lunch, snack, and clean-up routine and assist children with clothing management based on grade level - Participate in In-service training programs as required - Assist certified teacher with classroom activities as directed - Prepare training aids for the classroom as required - Work with children with special needs - *Estimated weekly payment may include both taxable wages and tax-free reimbursements for meals, housing, and incidentals.
