Long-Term Substitute - High School Math / Algebra Teacher
Location: Wilmington, DE 19805 Terms: Long-term Substitute Teacher for 12 weeks with an opportunity Reports to: High School Principal
Compendation: Up to $50 per hour, depending on experience and qualification Inspire the Next Generation of Problem Solvers
We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute High School Math Teacher to join our team. In this role, you'll guide students through Algebra and other high school math content, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and confidence in mathematics.

What We Offer Engaged Learners - Teach motivated high school students in a supportive community Collaborative Culture - Work alongside passionate educators and staff Opportunities to Innovate - Bring creativity to your lessons and adapt instruction to student needs Impactful Role - Shape students' understanding of mathematics and prepare them for academic and life success What You'll Do Teach math content effectively to all high school students, with a focus on Algebra (AP Calculus experience a plus) Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback Differentiate instruction for students with varied learning needs, including those in inclusive settings Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding student progress and classroom activities Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements Support students academically, socially, and emotionally through a small group advisory program Take necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of students and school resources Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a high standard of educational excellence What We're Looking For Valid Delaware Teaching License in Mathematics or enrollment in a DOE-approved ARTC program Successful completion of Praxis II exams Mathematics certification required; AP Calculus experience preferred Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and equitable learning environment Additional Requirements Favorable Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Check Negative Tuberculin Test Mandatory direct deposit for payroll
