Terms: Long-term Substitute Teacher for 12 weeks with an opportunity
Reports to: High School Principal

Compendation: Up to $50 per hour, depending on experience and qualification

We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute High School Math Teacher to join our team. In this role, you’ll guide students through Algebra and other high school math content, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and confidence in mathematics.

• Teach math content effectively to all high school students, with a focus on Algebra (AP Calculus experience a plus)

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning styles and abilities

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth

• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback

• Differentiate instruction for students with varied learning needs, including those in inclusive settings

• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding student progress and classroom activities

• Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements

• Support students academically, socially, and emotionally through a small group advisory program

• Take necessary precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of students and school resources

• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a high standard of educational excellence

• Valid Delaware Teaching License in Mathematics or enrollment in a DOE-approved ARTC program

• Successful completion of Praxis II exams

• Mathematics certification required; AP Calculus experience preferred

• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills

• Favorable Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Check

• Negative Tuberculin Test
