Job Title: Infant and Toddler Teacher
Location: 111 West North Street, Stamford CT

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced Infant and Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will provide a nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment for children aged 3 months to 3 years , promoting secure attachments and fostering each child's growth in the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive domains.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and soothing classroom environment that supports the unique needs of infants and toddlers.
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities focused on sensory exploration, motor development, communication, and early social skills.
Provide consistent and loving care routines including feeding, diapering/toileting, napping, and transitions.
Observe, document, and assess each childs developmental progress and tailor interactions to support individual growth.
Build strong, trust-based relationships with both children and their families; maintain regular, professional communication with parents/guardians regarding milestones, routines, and any concerns.
Ensure a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom that encourages discovery and comfort.
Implement responsive caregiving practices, including co-regulation and age-appropriate guidance techniques.
Collaborate with fellow staff and administrators to support classroom needs, special events, and center-wide initiatives.
Follow all licensing regulations , health and safety guidelines, and center policies, especially regarding sanitation and infant/toddler supervision.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in Infant/Toddler, or an associate or bachelors degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
A minimum of one year of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting is strongly preferred.
Completion of CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Familiarity with CT Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS) or similar frameworks is a plus.
Excellent communication skills , empathy, and a strong commitment to child development.
Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs., move swiftly, and engage in floor-level activities as needed.
Working Conditions
Active engagement in indoor and outdoor activities with young children.
Ability to respond to the physical needs of infants and toddlers including lifting, carrying, and soothing.
Must maintain awareness and attentiveness throughout the day for responsive care and supervision.
Hours may vary depending on classroom needs and center schedules.
