English Language Arts Teacher (6-8th Grade)

Craves growth and development, and believes that the work of a teacher is never finished. Approaches challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities: • Execute rigorous, standards-aligned lesson plans with an end goal of ensuring scholars perform at or above grade level • Analyze data frequently and collaboratively as a means of finetuning instruction to meet scholar needs • Build positive relationships with scholars grounded in respect,responsibility, integrity, perseverance, empowerment, and enthusiasm • Teach and maintain school-wide procedures and systems • Participate in on-going professional learning and development through one-on-one weekly check-ins and staff professional development • Communicate productively with scholars, families, and colleagues to ensure the best possible learning environment for scholars • Take ownership of academic results and work to continuously improve them • Actively participate in three-week summer professional development in preparation for the upcoming school year
Qualifications: • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university • Structured English Immersion endorsement • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card • Previous experience teaching in urban schools preferred, but not required • Spanish proficiency preferred, but not required
