Title: Assistant Teacher Supervisor: Lower School Head

Assistant Teacher

The Assistant Teacher will work collaboratively in conjunction with, and under guidance of the lead teachers in a variety of classroom settings. Their primary role is to support the lead teacher in facilitating the learning and development of the students. The Assistant Teacher also will support students with a variety of learning styles by providing support both in the classroom and in small group settings. The Assistant Teacher will also support teachers in meeting the range of learning needs of their students within a classroom setting, this will include differentiation and modifications where needed. When necessary, the assistant teacher will support the work of associate teachers as well.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Supporting the lead teacher in planning and implementing lesson plans and educational activities

Assisting in the supervision of students and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment

Supporting the work of associate teachers, subbing in as needed

Providing individual attention and support to students who may be struggling with coursework or behavior

Assisting with grading, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Communicating as requested with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns

Collaborating with other staff members and attending meetings and professional development sessions to improve their skills and knowledge.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, Master’s degree preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

At least 2 years experience in a relevant area

Growth mindset and a sense of humor

Salary Range: $50,000-55,000 (this represents the expected salary range for this position.
