Position requires (1) Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. (2) Must possess or be eligible for permanent or provisional teaching license from the Virginia Board of Education with endorsement to teach Spanish. Eligibility means all licensure requirements have been completed but applicant has not yet formally applied for the license. (3) Successful completion of criminal background check and Central Registry of Child Abuse/Neglect check. (4) Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public. (5) Work schedule Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. during the school year. (6) Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds; and to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead.
