This is a full-time position scheduled Monday – Friday, ideally 8:30a – 5:30p shifts during centers operational hours. The pay is $18 - 19 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications . This position is onsite at our center located: 1815 W. Washington St. Orlando, FL 32805

The VPK Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements curriculum that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.
What You’ll Do: • Manage adherence to quality standards in accordance with both center’s vision and state and local requirements while ensuring all Center policies and state regulations are met • Lead by example and encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by creating classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards • Plan individual and group age-appropriate exercises to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
What We Need from You: • Minimum of 1 -3 years of professional early childhood education preferred • High School Diploma and/or Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field of study • FL DCF 45 Hours with VPK Endorsement and CDA required •    FL DCF Transcript – Please send transcript to Dbrown@source2.com. You can retrieve the transcript from https://childcaretraining.myflfamilies.com/studentsite/admin/signin • CPR and First Aid Certification required • Must clear a full level II DCF background check • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills • Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed • Effective in communicating with both students and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants and resolve parental concerns • Demonstrate empathy and patience in difficult situations while being Cheerful, enthusiastic, and engaging in the workplace
