Meeting Street is currently looking for a Toddler Teacher in our Early Learning Center working 40 hours weekly.
Duties:
- Create and implement classroom curriculum that promotes active learning through a variety of developmentally appropriate experiences, and can be individualized, adapted and modified for all students.
- Partner with each family to design and implement appropriate goals for their child, considerate of their daily routines, parenting style and expectations, background, culture, and other individual needs.
- Implement appropriate classroom behavior management by demonstrating positive guidance, praise, giving sensory breaks and input along with redirection, and modeling conflict resolution.
- Facilitate interactions among children to create opportunities for social/emotional growth and opportunities to develop individual age-appropriate self-help skills.
- Monitor the developmental progress of each child through ongoing assessment and data collection using Teaching Strategies Gold.
- Supervise, mentor and coach classroom Teacher Assistants.
- Communicate and partner with the student’s family daily regarding their child’s activities and progress verbally at drop-off and pick-up, throughout the day using the Brightwheel app, and by zoom, email and phone to enhance the parent/school partnership.
Requirements:
- Associates Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, or related field.
- 2+ years experience caring for children under the age of 5 preferred.
- RIELDS foundations of Early Education and RIELDS Preschool Classrooms: Curriculum and Planning or willingness to obtain certifications within first year of employment.
- ITERS/ECERS training or willingness to complete within first 9 months of employment.
- A valid CPR and First Aid training/certification.
