Job description: Skills & Experience: -A commitment to continuing education and Montessori pedagogy. -Qualifications and/or experience relating to childhood development and teaching. -Strong organizational skills. -A proactive approach to supporting others. -Ability to communicate warmly and effectively with children, families and colleagues. -Special affinity for toddler age group. General Duties: The general duties shall include, but are not limited to the following: -Participates in the preparation of a stimulating and culturally rich environment according to the true spirit of Montessori principles. -Greets and interacts with all students, parents, and co-workers in a welcoming and positive manner. -Maintains a classroom environment that is clean, safe, and nurturing for children. -Assists with the emotional and physical care and well being of the children in the classroom, and on the playground. -Manages classroom activities and behavior. -Interacts with children in a professional, positive, and safe manner. -Assists in the making of materials, creation of lessons, and planning of activities. -Presents lessons and leads activities with individual students or groups of students. -Assists in morning check in, afternoon pick up, attendance recording, and end of the day classroom clean up. -Conducts parent conferences and meetings, staff meetings, P.I.R days and fundraising events in a warm and professional manner. -Remains confidential at all times. -Performs other duties as requested by the Head of School.
