Summary
The ideal candidate for the Toddler Assistant Teacher should be a high school graduate, at least 19 years of age, and have experience in an early childhood program working with one and two year olds. CPR and First Aid a plus, other training and background checks will be required upon hire.

Duties
Teachers operate the classroom in compliance with all Georgia child care licensing standards. S/He ensures that child care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with good child development principles. This includes routines related to diapering, hand washing, eating, napping and transitioning between activities and co-curricular classes. The position also ensures that parents receive adequate information about their child's experiences at the school through daily contacts. A teacher provides daily care individually to each toddler, including but not limited to diapering as needed and scheduled feeding. The teacher also observes children to detect signs of illness, injury, emotional distress, or other special needs and report these signs immediately.

Soothe children by singing to and cuddling them
Supervise and engage with toddlers on the floor as they play with age-appropriate toys
Supervise toddlers at nap time
Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean
Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs
Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren)
Enter data into Brightwheel to communicate daily activities with parents
Requirements
Qualifications
A caring individual who enjoys teaching young children
Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences
Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children alone in a classroom
Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents
Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations
Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 50lbs
Be available for employment and available to work the 9:00am-5:30 pm shift Monday through Friday
Have dependable transportation
Ability to pass a background check
Extended periods of time sitting on the floor
Ability to work year-round
Must be able to work well together on a team with other teachers
