Therapeutic Child Care Lead Teacher

New Today

The Therapeutic Childcare Program at Isabella House is a very special, sometimes challenging, and extremely rewarding place to work, learn, and develop as a childcare professional. The program utilizes a child-centered/family‐centered approach in which families and professionals collaborate to improve developmental outcomes for children; and facilitate the family’s transition to a less intensive early care environment.
Making sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully.
Therapeutic Childcare provides services for the children of parents receiving residential substance use disorder services. Services are for the care, protection, and treatment of children who are at risk of abuse, neglect, and eventual substance abuse.
Our children have big emotions, and they often are slow to trust others. We expect that, and we support the children as they work through those emotions, learn new skills, and adjust to life in a safe environment. The program offers age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate activities to increase emotional regulation and executive functioning, as well as self-soothing and self‐care skills.
As participants in the Early Achievers program (Washington’s framework for integrating high-quality practices into licensed childcare programs), we pride ourselves on our commitment to high-quality early learning experiences and ensuring that our staff have access to the resources and supports they need to provide quality care that promotes each child’s unique skills, culture, learning and development.
If this program sounds like a good fit for you, we encourage you to apply!
