Candidates should have a working knowledge of child development, familiarity with implementing standardized curriculum as well as using positive behavioral intervention strategies. Classroom teachers are responsible for writing weekly lesson plans, supervising assistant teachers, and interacting with related service providers. The ability to communicate effectively, build relationships with parents and participate in a collegial work environment is very important.
Requirements: Initial, Professional or Permanent NYS Teaching Certification.
