Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the school year.
- Full-time | 35-40 hours per week
- 40 direct services and 19 indirect services
Grade Level: PreK - 12 grades
Hourly Rate Range: $37-$48 per hour
Responsibilities would include:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, from preschool through high school, across various settings.
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet each student's visual needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
- Conduct functional vision assessments and assistive technology evaluations.
- Support the use of braille, large print, tactile graphics, and assistive devices.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Ohio Department of Education (ODE) and IDEA regulations.
- Travel between assigned schools or service sites if itinerant.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Ohio Department of Education (ODE) license with endorsement as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.
