A full-time, contracted opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support a K-12 student caseload ranging from ages 3 to 21. This role offers direct instructional support, assessment, and collaboration with educators and families to foster meaningful learning and development for students with visual impairments. The position requires traveling between multiple district locations in Kenosha, WI, though not necessarily on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored instruction to students with visual impairments, addressing academic and functional needs
Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt instructional methods accordingly
Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
Offer guidance and resources to educators and families regarding instructional strategies and assistive technology
Manage a caseload of 10-15 students across various school sites within the district
Qualifications:
Valid Wisconsin DPI License #1825 for Visual Impairment
Experience working with students with visual impairments in a K-12 educational setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and families
Ability to travel between multiple locations within the district as needed
