Teacher of the Visually Impaired We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our educational team in supporting students with visual impairments. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to help students access the general curriculum, develop independence, and thrive academically and socially.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, including Braille, assistive technology, orientation & mobility (in collaboration with O&M specialists), and compensatory skills.Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet individual student needs.Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments.Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to support inclusion and academic progress.Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to IEP goals, and ensure compliance with IDEA.Train students in the use of low vision devices, tactile graphics, and accessible educational tools.Support transition planning for older students, including preparation for post-secondary life.Maintain accurate records and document student progress.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.State certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (or ability to obtain) in PA.Proficiency in Braille (preferred: UEB Certification).Strong communication and collaboration skills.Experience working with students across a range of visual abilities and educational settings.Compensation/Benefits:$40-$45/HourMedical, Dental & Vision - Cigna Life, LTD & STDSupplemental Insurances401k (once eligible)PTO CEUsReferral programProfessional development assistanceDiscipline-specific mentorOnline community of clinicians Accepting Applications Through 8/30/2025Care Options for Kids is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
