Adelphi is seeking Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide instructional services in a school district in Montgomery County, Virginia. The TVI will support students with visual impairments by developing and implementing specialized instructional strategies to meet their educational needs.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Visual Impairments.
• Knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive devices for visually impaired students.
• Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting preferred.
Responsibilities
• Assess students’ needs and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the educational team.
• Provide direct instruction in academic and non-academic areas using specialized materials and equipment.
• Teach braille, orientation and mobility skills, and use of assistive technology.
• Consult with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student success.
• Adapt curriculum and classroom environment to meet students’ visual needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
