Teaching NM JROTC level 1 to middle schools students
Qualifications:
Noncommissioned officers must be a retired military in the grade of E-6 thru E-9.
Have been discharged from active duty or reserve duty under honorable conditions.
Must have been retired for more than three years (for initial employment).
Must be able to possess an Associate degree by 5th year of teaching JROTC in accordance with Section 539 NDAA.
Have no record of conviction by court martial, no record of time lost-to-be-made-good under Title 10 USC, Section 972 and no record of civil convictions except for minor traffic offenses.
Meet medical retention fitness standards as prescribe by Department of the Army.
Must have completed the Initial JROTC certification program for JROTC instructors who meets the USACC requirements for JROTC certification through Department of the Army, outlined in Section II of CCR 145-2. Additionally must be eligible by Department of the Army to serve as the JROTC government credit card holder.
Must be interviewed and approved by the SAI and USACC for hire.
Must be on the JROTC certification list at USACC Headquarter, Ft. Monroe, VA.
Must have a current DA photo and copy of last three NCO'ers for initial interview by SAI at school.
Performance Responsibilites:
Instruct JROTC curriculum in accordance with CRR I45-5 and JROTC Program of instruction as required by USACC regulations.
The Army Instructor (AI) is to assist the Senior Army Instructor (SAI), to properly instruct cadets and manage the JROTC unit in accordance with all Army regulations.
Note: The Commander of USACC, exercises authority on behalf of the Department of the Army to evaluate the eligibility and sustainability of personnel to serve as JROTC instructors. USACC reserves the right to conduct a personal interview by the DCS JROTC (or designated representative) as part of the approval/disapproval process. Only instructors authorized and approved by the Commanding General USACC will participate in the JROTC Program. The DCS JROTC exercises the Commander's responsibility for certifying JROTC instructors.
Term of Employment:
Army Instructor JROTC (NCO E-6-E9) 220 days per year, 8 hours a day and as required by JROTC regulations to support JROTC activities and programs.
SALARY: Contract between the school district and Army requires that the
salary paid to the instructor, by the school district, shall meet
Minimum Instructor Pay (MIP) for pay grade and rank for what the
individual received on active duty. This also includes active duty
allowances such as quarters, uniform maintenance, and basic
allowance for subsistence (BAS), variable housing allowance (VHA).
Salary shall be cost shared with the Army based on DD Form 2754
submitted by the school district to the Department of the Army.
