You will oversee daily center operations, supervise the Associate Teacher, and maintain a conducive classroom environment while ensuring compliance with Performance Standards and State Regulations. Your role will also involve developing and monitoring the program curriculum, promoting parent involvement, and mentoring staff to enhance service quality. Ideal candidates will possess a Child Development Teacher Permit, relevant educational qualifications, and experience working with young children.

Requirements for this Teacher II at Vista Del Lago job

• Child Development Teacher Permit within 6 months of hire

• AA (or 60 units) preferred with; 24 semester units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development (6 units must be with infant/toddler focus for Early Head Start position) or 24 Early Childhood Education units and 16 General Education units

• 2 units of Adult Supervision

• 1 year of experience working with infants/toddlers and/or preschool age children within the past four years

• A minimum of 1 year experience supervising adults

• California Preventative Health and Safety Certificate

• Current First Aid and CPR

• Have experience working effectively with minority and low-income families and adults at all levels of the socioeconomic structure of the community

• Possess knowledge of the needs of rural children and their families

• Interacts with children and is able to relate to them in a supportive and non- judgmental way in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide - compute percentages

• Ability to express and exchange ideas in proper English (bilingual preferred - Spanish/English) and work cooperatively with staff

clients and community from varied backgrounds and experiences

• Write reports, record observations and document conversations with proper spelling

grammar and format

• Ability to react with flexibility and sensitivity to changing situations and needs

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

• Must be agile enough to perform the job of teaching small children: able to walk, run, climb, bend, reach, etc.

• Be able to stand up for up to 7 hours at a time and sit for up to one hour at a time

• Valid California Driver's License and reliable vehicle

• Proof of current automobile insurance coverage at State minimum

• Criminal Record clearance

• Health Screening

• Proof of a negative TB and immunizations required by Community Care Licensing (Measles) Tdap (Pertussis) and current influenza shot.

• Willingness to work irregular hours

• Attend night meetings and travel as agency business requires
