A full-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) with licensure in Teaching Visually Impaired (TVI) is needed for the 2025-2026 school year to serve K-12 students in an itinerant role within a South San Francisco district. This in-person position offers an opportunity to support students directly in their learning environments, working collaboratively across multiple schools. Part-time candidates are also considered to share a caseload, providing flexible staffing options. Key Qualifications: Current licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments Ability to provide itinerant services across multiple school sites Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with educators, families, and support staff Responsibilities: Conduct assessments and develop individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments Deliver orientation and mobility instruction to promote student independence and safety Collaborate with classroom teachers and other service providers to adapt curriculum and materials Train staff and families on best practices to support visually impaired students Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with district policies Location: South San Francisco, CA In-person services only, itinerant within the district This contract role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on the educational success and daily lives of students with visual impairments. Candidates with flexibility to work full time or part time to split caseload responsibilities are encouraged to apply.
