Teacher for the Visually Impaired - North Dallas, TX

Soliant is seeking a qualified and passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments ranging from PreK through high school. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching braille, using assistive technology for visually impaired students, and conducting comprehensive vision-related evaluations. This is an onsite position based in Texas, serving students across various grade levels. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction in braille literacy and assistive technology to students with visual impairments Support students across a wide age range (PreK12th grade) Adapt educational materials and environments to ensure accessibility Conduct and complete Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE) and Learning Media Assessments (LMA) in their entirety Collaborate with general and special education staff, related service providers, and families Participate in IEP/ARD meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation Travel between sites (if applicable) to meet with students in various school settings Qualifications: Valid Texas Educator Credential with certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Proficiency in teaching braille and use of braille technology (e.g., braille notetakers, embossers, screen readers) Ability to independently complete and write FVE and LMA reports Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs Schedule and Location: This position requires a commitment of 37.5hours per week Employment is for the duration of the school year, following the academic calendar (August 11, 2025 - May 22, 2026) Work will be based on-sitein North Dallas, TX
