Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at New Haven Elementary as a full-time teacher for grades K-5. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and engaging learning environment that fosters the intellectual, social, and emotional development of young learners. This role requires collaboration with colleagues, parents, and the community to ensure the success of each student.
Responsibilities - Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of students. - Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning. - Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations. - Provide individualized support and differentiation for students with varying abilities and learning styles. - Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs. - Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to enhance instructional practices and student outcomes. - Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and innovations. - Maintain classroom management and discipline in accordance with school policies. - Engage in school-wide initiatives and contribute to a positive school culture.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. - Valid teaching certification for elementary education (K-5). ZG, ZO, or ZP - Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for young learners. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. - Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance learning. - Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all students. - Previous teaching experience in an elementary setting is preferred but not required.

Terms of Employment: School year as defined in the written agreement between the New Haven Board of Education and the New Haven Education Association.
Compensation: Appropriate placement on the salary schedule as defined in the written agreement between the New Haven Board of Education and the New Haven Education Association which can be found at www.newhaven.misd.net under the transparency page.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy of the Board of Education and Administrative Guidelines.
