Purpose:
Edmunds Consolidated School is seeking to hire a certified Special Education Teacher for a full-time K-8 position.We are seeking an individual who will work with other staff to identify and serve students through the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) process. This teacher will have the support of a team of veteran teacher aides, and be joining not only a school, but the supportive school community found at Edmunds.

The position provides professional services work teaching academic subjects at schools operated by the state in the Education in the Unorganized Territory in Maine. Responsibilities include testing students, developing curricula and educational plans, instructing classes, and evaluating student progress.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of teaching principles, practices, and techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to write clearly and effectively.
Ability to prepare clear and concise written and/ or computer-generated reports.
Ability to develop curricula and lesson plans.
Ability to use computer programs and technology effectively. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelors Degree in Education or related field.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class).
Maine Teacher's Certificate for appropriate subject and/or grade(s) as issued by the Department of Education.
