This person will assist the classroom teacher in managing the classroom to create a positive, healthy and safe learning space.

Responsibilities include for Teacher Assistant, Floater or Staff Aide: Assist with all aspects of the daily routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, serving snacks / lunches and maintaining classroom cleanliness Assist with the implementation of effective child guidance techniques; define and communicate appropriate limits and boundaries for children, ensure smooth transitions between activities Assist with home visits and parent teacher conferences Be flexible and adaptable to changing classroom conditions May be assigned to different classrooms and ages of children to ensure appropriate teacher/child ratios Maintain a clean classroom environment, wash and disinfect tables after snacks / meals, art projects and other classroom activities throughout the day, pick up toys, books and other materials, keep floors and sleeping areas free of debris, sweep floors, clean counters and cabinets as needed to ensure a safe and healthy environment Follow directions of the classroom teacher working one-to-one or in small groups with children Assist with the implementation of the Montessori inspired approach in the classroom Note: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job.

Requirements: Teacher Assistant: Minimum CDA (not expired) Floating Teacher: PDIS Level II, or qualified as an Early Childhood Teacher (completed 101 or 103 and another ECE class) Staff Aide or On-call Substitute Teacher: High School or GED.
