Summary: McKean High School seeking a highly-qualified, enthusiastic individual to serve as a LONG TERM SUBSITUTE Secondary Social Studies Teacher. The successful candidate will have excellent people skills, be self-motivated, and have demonstrated ability to deliver lessons to support the curriculum goals.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement curricula to meet the Delaware Social Studies Standards. Plan daily academic, differentiated lessons and implement specific strategies to teach students social studies, and a middle school social studies-based elective, especially 8th Grade US History and 11th Grade US History. Be accountable for students' academic growth and achievement. Design and implement summative assessments to measure progress towards academic standards and formative assessments to drive instruction. Use assessment data to inform curricular and instructional practices. Be able to implement IEP and 504 plans for students within the theatre arts program. Create a positive, achievement-oriented learning environment. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children's academic success. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Teacher certification (any state) a plus. State of Delaware retirees are eligible, but subject to pension rules. Strong instructional skills and classroom management.
