OVERVIEW

The mission of Prince George's Christian Academy is to effectively teach the truths of the Bible, resulting in our students having a true relationship with Jesus Christ, as evidenced by exemplary Christian character and a love of learning. Our goal is for students to demonstrate excellence in all endeavors.

The Prince George's Christian Academy substitute teacher will provide education on an as-needed basis to students. The focus will be on the needs of the individual child or young person within the Academy

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach classes at the elementary or middle school level in academic or specialty subjects.
  • Encourage desirable study, work, and recreational habits by providing pupils with opportunities best suited to them.
  • Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and at social curricular activities.
  • Prepare and adapt instructional material.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports relative to the work.
  • Perform related essential functions appropriate to the work and other non-essential functions as directed or required by the principal.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Membership, in good standing, of a local Bible-believing church, or willingness to become a member.
  • Passion for education and dedication to serving the Christian community.
  • Agreement with our articles of faith and a commitment to uphold them.
  • Gracious and Christ-like demeanor, particularly in challenging situations.
  • Understanding and appreciation for the ministry and mission of PGCA.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to individuals' needs.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience working with children, preferred.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, administrators, office staff and other members of the school community.
  • Possess the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, professionalism, and agreement with school policy.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the applicable field of education required.
