Job Announcement Preschool Associate Teacher Job Description
Under the guidance of the Preschool Teacher, the State/IASA Preschool Associate Teacher will assist in the implementation of the educational program for students in the preschool classroom.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The State/IASA Preschool Associate Teacher serves on all days required for the State/IASA Preschool Program as defined in the state Preschool Guidelines. They are placed on the District Classified Salary Schedule based on years of employment in the program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit
  • A degree in Child Development is desirable
  • Experience in a Compensatory Preschool class as well as instructional experience in other educational programs for young children and parents is desirable

Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:

  • DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
  • TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
  • Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
  • Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR Certificate (In-Person Training ONLY)
  • Immunizations required by SB 792; Influenza, Pertussis and Measles
  • State Mandated Preschool Forms, including a health screening completed by a physician.
