About The Opportunity: The University Supervisor observes and documents teacher candidates' demonstration of professional competencies aligned with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education standards. The role involves supporting the student and cooperating teacher, supporting the development of teaching practice, and ensuring the candidate's progress. Responsibilities: Familiarize with policies, expectations, evaluations, and tasks of the student teaching experience. Schedule, facilitate, and participate in meetings with the clinical triad (student teacher, cooperating teacher, supervisor). Provide timely verbal and written feedback. Complete and submit necessary paperwork, assessments, and evaluations. Work with the school to integrate curriculum and philosophy. Monitor and support teacher candidates' progress. Communicate regularly with the Director of Field Placements. Identify concerns and attend scheduled meetings and orientations. Qualifications: Master’s degree in education. Minimum five years of teaching and/or administrative experience. Knowledge of supervision, subject matter, and teaching methodology. Experience in urban and underserved schools preferred.
