Responsibilities:
- Teach middle school English Language Arts curriculum, including reading, writing, grammar, and literature.
- Foster a love for reading and writing while encouraging critical thinking and creativity.
- Create and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to a range of student abilities.
- Provide constructive feedback on student work and promote an environment of academic growth and excellence.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cohesive and well-rounded instruction.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and work to establish strong, positive relationships between school and home.
- Support the school's mission by integrating Catholic values and teachings into daily lessons.
Key Qualifications:
- A degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for middle school (preferred).
- Strong knowledge and experience in teaching English Language Arts at the middle school level.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
- Ability to collaborate with other educators and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- A strong desire to engage in partnership with parents, supporting their involvement in their child's academic and spiritual development.
- Active commitment to the Catholic faith, with a strong connection to the mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
- Experience with English Language Learners (ELL) is preferred, but not required.
