Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with moderate to severe disabilities in an in-person classroom setting. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
  • Provide direct instruction in academic, functional, and social-emotional skills
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and assistive technology to support student learning
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with IDEA and district policies
  • Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment

Qualifications

  • Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential Moderate/Severe (or eligibility)
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
