Special Education Teacher
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with moderate to severe disabilities in an in-person classroom setting. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and structured learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs
- Provide direct instruction in academic, functional, and social-emotional skills
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and assistive technology to support student learning
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with IDEA and district policies
- Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
Qualifications
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential Moderate/Severe (or eligibility)
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred)
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
