Position Summary:We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with our staff to provide specialized instruction and support to students with a range of developmental, behavioral, and mobility challenges. This role includes creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or Support Plans, adapting curriculum, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to the needs, abilities, and goals of students.Modify and adapt the curriculum to ensure accessibility and inclusion for all learners.Collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and other staff to integrate ABA strategies into daily instruction.Manage and oversee the implementation of IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.Monitor student progress, collect data, and provide regular updates to parents and the educational team.Teach essential life skills, including social-emotional learning, communication, and independence skills.Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages engagement and positive behavior.Use various teaching methods, including hands-on activities, visual supports, and assistive technology, to accommodate diverse learning styles.Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and parent-teacher conferences.Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.Qualifications:Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.Certification: Current Florida teaching certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or eligibility to obtain certification.Experience working with students with special needs, including autism, developmental delays, or behavioral challenges.Familiarity with ABA principles, adaptive teaching techniques, and assistive technologies is preferred.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Compassionate, patient, and committed to the success of every student.Preferred Qualifications:DCF 45-hour Mandated Training40-hour RBT TrainingExperience working in a small classroom setting or alternative education environment.Knowledge of sensory integration, de-escalation strategies, and trauma-informed practices.BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain it.Benefits:Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.Opportunities for professional development and training.Supportive and collaborative work environment.Potential for growth within the organization.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee discountFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceReferral programSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus opportunitiesEducation:Associates (Required), Bachelors (Preferred)Experience:Special education: 1 year (Preferred) recblid 2k46ec91uga4xxp8xa6ka0vwe6qti9
