Summary

We are seeking a dedicated SETSS (Special Education Teacher Support Services) Provider to support a small but impactful caseload of students across grades 1 through 6 in a dual-language (Mandarin immersion) private school environment in New York City 10019

This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who is culturally responsive, collaborative, and experienced (or open) to working within language immersion settings, where the intersection of language acquisition and learning needs must be navigated thoughtfully.

Responsibilities:

• Provide SETSS services (individual or small group) as outlined in each student’s IESP

• Work closely with general education and immersion teachers to ensure services are aligned with curriculum and instructional time

• Avoid push-in during immersion/language instruction; prioritize ELA and specials periods for services

• Use a pull-out model when appropriate, coordinating with school staff to minimize disruption

• Maintain regular communication with families and teachers via simple weekly updates (e.g., sign-in notes)

• Observe classes (e.g., ELA, Math) as needed to offer insights for differentiation and accommodations

• Be flexible and collaborative in scheduling services, with some students potentially needing after-school support

Preferred Qualifications:

• NYS Certified Special Education Teacher

• Experience providing SETSS or similar instructional services

• Understanding of or interest in language immersion education

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Experience working with diverse student populations, including children of color

• Cultural humility and a collaborative mindset

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $60.00 per hour
