Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opening position is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher to support a self-contained, cognitively impaired classroom serving students in grades 6th through 10th. This contract role is located in Sterling Heights, MI, and is set to start as soon as possible, extending through the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of cognitively impaired students
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Manage classroom activities and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet educational goals
• Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and support personnel to foster student success

Qualifications:

• Valid certification/licensure in Special Education
• Experience working with cognitively impaired students in a self-contained classroom setting
• Ability to create engaging, differentiated lesson plans for grades 6th-10th
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
