This opportunity is for two full-time Special Education Teachers to support K-12 students with diverse learning needs in a structured classroom environment in New Bedford, MA. The assignments are for the upcoming school year on a contract basis, providing a meaningful chance to impact students requiring specialized instructional approaches. Responsibilities include delivering individualized educational programs that align with students unique needs and diagnosis, collaborating with educational assistants and specialized staff, and utilizing behaviorally based methodologiessuch as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)to enhance student learning and social development. Positions Available: Elementary (K-4) RISE Program: Focus on students with intellectual impairments or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Classrooms follow ABA methodology with a team including a special educator, educational assistant, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), and consultation from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Middle School (Grades 5-7) TLC Program: Therapeutic setting for students with emotional impairments. Supportive classroom team consists of a special educator, two educational assistants, and collaboration with a School Adjustment Counselor. Key Qualifications: Active Massachusetts Special Education teaching licensure is mandatory Experience working with students with intellectual, emotional, or autism-related needs preferred Familiarity and skill with ABA strategies, therapeutic programming, and collaborative teamwork Strong communication and behavior management skills Location: New Bedford, MA
