A contract Special Education teaching opportunity is available at an elementary school in Middletown, OH, for the current school year (CSY). This role focuses on delivering tailored instruction and support to students with disabilities in compliance with state and federal regulations. Qualifications: Required: Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field Valid Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Intensive, or K-12, depending on student population) Strong knowledge of IDEA and Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes Ability to design and implement individualized instruction, accommodations, and modifications Experience with progress monitoring, data collection, and formative assessments Proficiency in developing and applying behavior management strategies Effective collaboration skills with general education staff, support personnel, and families Excellent communication and documentation skills Preferred: Masters degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or related field Experience with inclusive education, co-teaching, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Training in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) development Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive curriculum tools Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards Extended (OLSE) for students with significant cognitive disabilities Bilingual or multilingual abilities (a plus) Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Deliver direct instruction and intervention to support academic and social-emotional growth Modify curriculum and assessments to accommodate individual student needs Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate inclusion and co-teaching Use data to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies Administer academic and behavioral assessments to inform goal setting Manage Behavior Intervention Plans as necessary Facilitate required meetings including IEP, ETR, and 504 conferences Maintain consistent communication with parents and guardians Employ assistive technology and specialized instructional methods Ensure compliance with all relevant special education laws and reporting requirements Engage in ongoing professional development and training Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance (for eligible employees) 401(k) retirement plan with company match This teaching position offers an impactful role supporting students with disabilities within an elementary setting.
