Community Academy is seeking an energetic, certified Special Education teacher to join our talented and experienced special education team. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow in your field, working alongside experienced special education teachers and specialized support staff to support students with IEPs in high school. Key Responsibilities: 1. Provide supplemental instruction for students with IEPs on caseload 2. Coordinate IEP team meetings to develop appropriate IEPs 3. Collaborate with regular education teacher to implement modifications and specially designed instruction as per IEP 4. Coordinate schedules and ensure delivery of services in counseling, occupational therapy, speech therapy and other related services as listed in the IEP 5. Coordinate services for students with 504 Plans 6. Maintain special education files ensuring compliance 7. Provide push-in support and teach small group intervention group in academic areas per IEP 8. Provide life skills and social skills support to students as per IEP 9. Monitor progress for special education students 10.Provide professional development and specialized training to regular education teachers Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education - completed or in progress. Communication skills and interpersonal skills. Federal, state, and child abuse background checks required.
