A contract position is available for a dedicated professional to provide specialized educational support in a full-day, self-contained classroom setting for students with disabilities. This role is set in a K-12 school environment, focusing on fostering an inclusive and stimulating learning atmosphere for all students.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field
Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in a self-contained classroom
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and other staff
Familiarity with individual education plans (IEPs) and related documentation
Location: Greenwood, SC
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
Collaborate with teaching assistants to create a supportive learning environment
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
Communicate regularly with families regarding student development and academic progress
Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
