*Reports to:* Principal/Assistant Principal
*Classroom Organization: *Lower school class (Ages 9-14)
Responsible for teaching , social skills, life skills, emotional regulation, and preparing the students to transition to middle school. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of teaching best practices for middle school children, planning and collaborating with classroom teachers and parents, and creating interactive experiences for students in the classroom and within the community.
*MAX class size is 9 students: *3 teaching staff per classroom
Hours: Monday through Friday - 8:00am-4:00pm; 30 minute lunch break included
Schedule: 12-month program closely following SCCPSS schedule during the school year with extended breaks over the summer session.
*52+ Paid Holiday Days*, Additional PTO days, Paid staff training days.
*Classroom Supports: *Assistant Teacher(s), RBT(s), BCBA(s) and Principal/Assistant Principal
*Main Function:*
Develop student support plans and directly supervise and administer classroom instruction for each student assigned to his/her classroom in The Matthew Reardon Center for Autism's Advance Academy.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Confer with parents, administrators, therapists, and others to develop IEPs for students. * Prepare lessons and other instructional materials according to the achievement levels of students and the goals established by the IEP. Lessons may focus on academic, social, daily-living, and vocational skills, along with other skills as appropriate. * Instruct students in academic subjects, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis techniques, including discrete-trial teaching, activity schedules, and reinforcement systems. * Plan and coordinate purposeful assignments for classroom assistants, other supporting staff, interns, and/or volunteers, and provide input to administrative staff on the performance of these individuals. * Coordinate all materials with teaching team members. * Communicate with Center leadership (as needed) regarding the progress of students and continued development of curriculum. * Maintain daily observation notes, IEP and behavior program data, and graphs of learning progression. * Maintain regular written communication with parents and participate in regular parent/teacher conferences. * Observe, evaluate, and prepare reports on progress for IEPs of students. * Develop and maintain classroom environment and schedule. * Any other duties as assigned.

*Experience, Education and Other Minimum Qualifications:*
* Master's Degree in Education or Special Education, or a related field _*preferred*_.

* Bachelor's Degree in Education or Special Education with a Georgia Teaching Certification (*REQUIRED*) * 3 years experience in Special Education * Compliance with MRCA accreditation and GSNS standards must be met. If certified in another state, steps should be taken to obtain certification in Georgia. * Experience/training in educating children with Autism and/or other developmental disabilities preferred. * Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred.
Salary based on degree, certification, and experience.
