Position Details POSITION DESCRIPTION
Huron Valley Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, positive and effective high school ASD teacher with experience in utilizing best practices supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This teacher will need to be highly collaborative and an effective communicator, both verbal and written.

Posting Date: 07/02/2025 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must hold a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate
Special Education endorsement in ASD
Certification in non-violent crisis intervention training required, or will be provided ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To effectively provide instruction to students on an Individualized Education Plan
To effectively communicate in writing and verbally with students, staff and families
To progress monitor student growth to then report data and provide grades
To be engaged while attending building and department meetings
To be a learner of your content and other school related topics as to benefit students
Ability to work independently and also with a team
Knowledge of legal mandates regarding provision of services
Knowledge of classroom instruction interventions and behavioral management techniques
Knowledge of resources and agencies providing services to students
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community, staff, etc.
Ability to problem solve and provide assistance in areas requiring conflict resolution
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Respect for confidentiality and integrity
Strong organizational skills
Professionalism and strong work ethic
Ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of individuals EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s or higher.
LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS:  Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
