This full-time Special Education teaching position is based in Austin, TX, serving students in grades 6-12. The role requires delivering both push-in and pull-out instructional services to approximately 25 students with special needs, with a focus on high school literature. Scheduled from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, this contract role offers a nurturing environment for educators passionate about engaging students through classic and diverse literary works.

Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored special education services in both push-in and pull-out settings. Support students comprehension and appreciation of literature, including titles such as Tom Sawyer, Chronicles of Narnia, Helen Keller: Story of My Life, Homers Odyssey, and My Antonia. Actively participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, contributing insights and planning individualized education programs. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages literacy development and critical thinking. Qualifications: Valid Texas Department of Education EC-12 Special Education License. Proven experience attending and contributing to ARD meetings. Strong enthusiasm for literature and ability to engage students in meaningful discussions.
