Summary: We are seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher Assistant to work at Bethany Middle School. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with disabilities and possess strong communication skills.
Responsibilities: - Assist the Special Education Teacher in providing academic and behavioral support to students with disabilities - Collaborate with the Special Education Teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students - Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the Special Education Teacher - Implement behavior modification plans and assist with crisis management when necessary - Attend meetings and communicate with parents and other staff members regarding student progress and needs - Assist with classroom management and organization - Provide one-on-one or small group instruction as needed - Maintain accurate records and documentation
Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework in education or related field preferred) - Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a school setting - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and parents - Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with physical needs of students if necessary - Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting process
