SUBJECT: Short Term Substitute Teacher: Grade 6 - City View Elementary 2025
REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The Worcester Public Schools is seeking a Short Term Substitute Teacher for a Grade 6 classroom at City View Elementary School for the anticipated period of September 29, 2025 to November 25, 2025. Should this assignment period extend or another similar assignment become available following the dates of this assignment, the successful candidate may be offered the opportunity to continue the placement. If the assignment reaches 45 consecutive work days, this would be considered a Long Term Substitute assignment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Excellent written and oral communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Massachusetts DESE educator's license in Elementary 1-6
2. Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities
3. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African Language
WORK YEAR: Dates of assignment as noted above. Potential for assignment to extend.
WORK DAY: 6 hours
HOURLY RATE: Short Term Substitute Hourly rate of 18.32/hour for consecutive work days 1-44. The Long Term Substitute hourly rate of
55.32/hour will be applied if the assignment extends to 45+ days, back to the 20th consecutive work day.
