Senior Child Development Teacher

The Teacher works as a team member to provide a safe and secure environment to enhance a child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development as part of our Nationally Accredited Early Childhood Development Center by NAEYC. The Teacher is responsible for co-teaching with other educators, organizing, and planning a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the center's philosophy and NAEYC accreditation guidelines.

Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training: 24 Semester units of Early Childhood Education including all CORE classes plus Infant and Toddler Development and Program: Child Development Principles and Practices in Early Childhood Education Introduction to Curriculum The Child, Family and Community 3 units of Infant/Toddler Development Supervised field experience
Coursework/Training: Current California Commission on Teaching Credentialing - Teacher Permit Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (4 years of college-level training) Master's Degree (preferred) Background Check Clearance by the CA Department of Social Services upon hire (CPMB) and DOJ clearance; Child Abuse Central Index check No convictions related to child abuse, offenses against persons, sexual offenses, child neglect, or felonies involving controlled substances CA AB1207 Child Care Provider Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training required upon hire At least 2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children 6 months of supervised field experience in an early childhood setting Preferred Qualifications: 6 months of experience working with infants and toddlers Why Join Providence?
