JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Classroom Teacher Department: Instruction Classification: Licensed Full Benefits & Lifeflight Coverage4 Day Work Week General Duties The Classroom Teacher promotes and supports successful learning for all students and performs instructional duties in accordance with District policies and the teacher contract. The teacher is expected to maintain a professional, cooperative attitude with students, parents, and colleagues. This position may include opportunities for involvement in extracurricular activities and coaching assignments, depending on the candidate's interests and qualifications. Stipends may be available for the following roles: Athletic coaching (various levels and sports) Club or activity advisor (e.g., National Honor Society, student leadership, academic clubs) Academic support (e.g., tutoring, extended learning programs) Event coordination or student supervision roles Candidates with experience or interest in extracurricular engagement are encouraged to apply and indicate any preferred areas of involvement in their application.Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Valid Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position and endorsement, or ability to obtain one Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient oral and written communication skills Ability to effectively engage and work with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds Collaborative and cooperative working style Willingness and ability to learn new technology systems Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor Public speaking and presentation skills Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress environments Commitment to student and staff confidentiality Proficiency with computers and internet-based applications (e.g., email, learning management systems) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Enjoy working with students and serving as a positive role model Sound judgment, especially in emergency or disciplinary situations Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing job conditions Essential Responsibilities and Functions Foster and model a respectful, inclusive classroom environment Complete annual required District trainings by established deadlines Follow District procedures for reporting absences Utilize District electronic systems and applications Establish and maintain a productive classroom environment with available resources Develop instructional plans tailored to students' age, interests, and abilities Collaborate in creating and implementing IEPs and 504 Plans Align instruction with national, state, and district standards Use diverse instructional strategies and materials Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of subject matter Apply research-based instructional practices Use learning objectives with clear outcomes to guide instruction Clearly communicate academic expectations Implement teaching strategies that promote student engagement Monitor and adjust instruction based on student progress Regularly assess student learning and maintain accurate records in the approved gradebook Communicate with parents regarding student academic and behavioral progress Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and select instructional materials Submit budget and material requests as needed Attend required staff meetings, professional development, and trainings Maintain student confidentiality Provide substitute-ready lesson plans Supervise students in all assigned settings Pursue professional development to improve instructional effectiveness Serve as a positive role model in speech, behavior, and appearance Refer students with special needs to appropriate support personnel Establish clear behavior expectations and manage classroom discipline Supervise and support instructional aides when assigned Submit purchase orders and required paperwork in a timely manner Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies Perform other duties as assigned Note: Specific duties and expectations related to your assignment (have) / (have not) been attached.
