Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans across scientific disciplines.
• Create hands-on lab activities and inquiry-based projects to ignite curiosity and reinforce concepts.
• Regularly assess student understanding through formative and summative evaluationsprovide constructive, growthoriented feedback.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom where diverse learners feel supported and inspired.
• Partner with colleagues, families, and administratorsparticipate in school-wide events like science fairs and interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and embrace ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in science education.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Science, Science Education, or a related field.
• Valid Illinois teaching certification for middle school science or general middle school education.
• Proven experience teaching science to grades 68 (minimum 23 years preferred).
• Strong classroom management, practical communication skills, and ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning styles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in Education or Science Education.
• Experience designing and facilitating lab or field science experiences.
• Familiarity with educational technology, digital learning tools, or science curriculum development.
