Position Summary Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School (LVA) is seeking an engaging science educator to join our Middle Years Programme (MYP) team as a 6th Grade Earth & Space Science Teacher. The successful candidate will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and guide students in developing a deeper understanding of the world around them through inquiry-based learning.

This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys working with middle school learners, values collaboration, and embraces the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy of developing knowledgeable, inquiring, and caring young people.

Key Responsibilities Teach 6th Grade Earth & Space Science aligned with Pennsylvania State Standards and the IB MYP framework. Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and real-world application. Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units and assessments. Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessment tools to support diverse learning needs. Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events. Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and extracurricular activities as appropriate. Qualifications Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Middle Level Science or General Science (Grades 4-8 or 7-12), preferred. Strong classroom management skills and ability to build positive relationships with students. Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Commitment to ongoing professional growth.
